Me sew??? Are you crazy?

So last week, I was feeling the crunch of the end of the semester. I had a huge, half way through nursing test scheduled for Wednedsay and three finals the next week. Abby walks in the door and hands me a pattern for a beautiful dress for her Shakespeare play. Are you joking I ask her? She says no this is what her teacher wants her to wear. While I try to be number one mom i find a few problems with this plan. One, no time. Two, no machine (I would have to borrow my moms) Three, the amount of money for the material. And forth and most importantly, I CAN NOT SEW!!! While, obviously somewhere in my genetics there is some sewing ability (check out my sisters blog , corie and fam) it skipped me. I firmly believe sewing takes a lot patience, something I try to possess, but fail most of the time. So I called my creative wonderful sister (who uped and moved to Texas on me) and said I know you will be honest should I even try to tackle this. After looking up the pattern online she said it would probably not be a good idea and if I could not find some help to ship her the pattern and with all her spare time she would help. Well, since she has four very busy young children and a fabric business I felt this might be quite an imposition. I happened to take it into Abbys dance studio that night and Barbara gently said you do not have time for this. The resulting lender costume from Ms. Kathy at the studio is pictured below. Thanks Utah Dance. And thanks sis for offering. To anyone who is reading this please do not ask me to sew it really gives me quite a panic attack. By the way, I passed the HESI and am on to finals next week! yea!

We want spring!!!!!

I wanted to post these cute pics of the girls to remind myself and all those who live here in Utah what spring is supposed to look like.
It was a warm day a not long ago, a tease that we were entering spring. Which, by the way, the first day of Spring was in March!!!! The girls decided they wanted to roller blade. It never fails, every year, we need at least one new set of skates, helmet, etc. So off to the store we went. Two stores and a hundred dollars later Hope has a new pair of Dora roller skates (yes skates) and her and Abby both have new helmets and pads. It was worth the time and money because ever since the warm day the girls have bundled up in the cold air to go rollerblading

Playoffs

I just wanted to let everyone know I do no appreciate school finals and the hockey playoffs being at the same time. It makes it very hard to study! So, I have this big half-way through nursing school test on Wednesday and then three finals the next week. YUK!!! It makes me hate school. It seriously gives me an ulcer! So if you wonder if I have fallen off the face of the planet, well then, your anwer is yes. Into a giant stack of books and notecards. If you saw me behind this stack you would probably think it was a joke and laugh. All of a sudden I glanced up from the stack and noticed some great hockey being played. I shoved the stack aside and enjoyed a few games. Oh well, life can not consist of studying alone! Go Avalanche and Stars. Not sure who I will cheer for when they play each other. Also, I am in desperate need of picking a new goalie and from what the playoffs have shown me I will have to cheer for the avalanche. While Turko is fabulous, Theodore has been consistant and has been a game saver.

Finally a Disneyland Blog

Ok its official vacationing is wonderful and makes you angry when you have to come back to the real world! YUK! I have very little time right now to blog but wanted to update everyone on our awesome trip! We were in Disneyland for 5 days and stayed at the Disneyland hotel. Our last expierance there was miles above this one, but we still had fun. We had kind of an idiot check us in and he took 45 minutes....I was not happy. The pool (the Neverland one) got shut down twice because of dumb parents not putting appropreiate swim diapers on thier children who poop in the pool, again not happy. They do have another 2 pools we were able to use. The hotel, however, did comp us a $75 dinner and gave us two free ride passes. So this is like a fast pass but you just walk up and use it. Pretty nice but not sure we will spend the money to stay there again. Hope claims now her favorite ride was "Mountain Splash" but while we were there she very much loved the bugs land and the smaller rides. I think she was a little overstimulated! Abby and her dad went on Indiana Jones 5 times and braved the California Screamin' not a ride for me! We ate at the restaraunt that overlooks the Pirates ride, well worth the money for the expierance alone. This trip we took some time for the shows and parades. Hope loved the Pixar Parade. Over all I think we had a great time and we are already aching to go back!!!!
